As a busy professional and entrepreneur your life goals are solely centered on the needs of today. The way you live your life today and the impact you’re making will tell if you are preparing the way to make life easier for you and your children without having to squeeze out all the juice in your today just to save a drink for tomorrow.
Leaving a good legacy means things will be a whole lot better for your children and children’s children.
My younger self didn’t care about legacy and you’ve probably had similar thoughts. Let’s live now and tomorrow will cater for tomorrow!
But as I got older I began to think about it more everyday. Then I got cancer and all these thoughts became so real over & over again and this is when I knew I had to beat it if I was going to build my legacy and have my last name stick around forever.
Just as I was done beating it (Or so I thought) it creeped in the second time and it looked like I was going to give up my legacy and concentrate my entire life on treating cancer.
But Guess What!
I didn't let it steal my chance of living a good life and creating a better life for my children and children’s children. It was tough on me but I didn't waiver and never let any negative thoughts breed but rather focused on building my dream life and I beat cancer all over again.
This adversity didn't stop me from building an amazing life for my family and I.
When you decide that you’re going to build your legacy, adversity may come in to attack your decision, weaken you and steal your dreams leaving you all empty with nothing to pass onto your children.
It then remains up to you to WIN and let the adversity lose.
Now would you allow Adversity to steal your legacy or would you rather turn it into your ultimate strength?
Champions succeed in spite of any adversity.
Will you sometimes feel alone in your fight, YES… But that doesn't mean that you are. Adversity is a part of life and without someone guiding you, you could lose your greatest strength.
I asked this rhetorical question at one of my self organized events. “Who’s willing to live poor, die poor, pass on poverty to the next generation and keep the circle of poverty rolling from one generation to another?” I wasn’t surprised with the response I received. The hall went silent, you could hear a pin drop. No one dared to raise their hand. Everyone desires riches but not all receive them. Only those who are ready to face life with grittiness without giving up will receive their portion and I bet you are one of those.
